BEFORE OPERATIONS PMCS
Perform these checks before every flight. Items marked NFMC will ground the aircraft until corrected.

Check engine oil level (No. 1 and No. 2 engines) — must be within operating range on sight glass
Check transmission oil level (forward, aft, and combining) — must be at FULL on sight glass
Check hydraulic fluid level (No. 1 and No. 2 systems) — must be at FULL on sight glass; check for leaks
Check fuel quantity — fill to required level; inspect fuel caps, lines, and fittings for leaks
Inspect forward rotor head — check blade grips, pitch links, scissors, and hub for cracks, corrosion, or missing hardware
Inspect aft rotor head — check blade grips, pitch links, scissors, and hub for cracks, corrosion, or missing hardware
Inspect all rotor blades (forward and aft) — check for delamination, cracks, dents, or erosion strip damage
Check forward and aft pylon attachment points — inspect for cracks, corrosion, and security of attachment hardware
Inspect forward and aft rotor drive shafts — check for cracks, dents, and security of couplings
Check combining gearbox — inspect for leaks, security of mounting, and condition of input/output shafts
Inspect No. 1 and No. 2 engines — check for fuel and oil leaks, FOD in inlet, and security of cowling
Check engine air particle separators (EAPS) — must be clean and free of obstruction; check for damage
Inspect cargo hook (forward and aft) — check for proper operation, locking mechanism, and condition of hook assembly
Check ramp and door operation — ramp must open/close fully; check hydraulic lines and seals for leaks
Inspect landing gear — check all four gear for proper extension, tire condition, and strut inflation
Check all exterior lights — position lights, anti-collision lights, searchlight, and formation lights
Inspect fuselage skin — check for cracks, corrosion, missing fasteners, or impact damage
Check pitot tubes and static ports — must be clear of obstructions; remove covers
Inspect all antennas — check for security, damage, and proper installation
Check battery — check electrolyte level and terminal connections; verify battery switch operation
NFMC — No Further Movement Criteria. Any fault on an NFMC item means the vehicle is non-mission-capable and must not be dispatched until repaired. Annotate on DA Form 5988 immediately.
