BEFORE OPERATIONS PMCS
Perform these checks before every mission or movement. Items marked NFMC will prevent the vehicle from being dispatched.

Check engine oil level — must be between MIN and MAX on dipstick; use correct viscosity per temperature range
Check coolant level in surge tank — must be at FULL COLD line; check for leaks at hoses and connections
Check transmission fluid level — must be between MIN and MAX on dipstick (engine warm, running)
Check transfer case fluid level — must be at fill plug level; check for leaks at seals
Check power steering fluid level — must be between MIN and MAX; check for leaks at hoses and pump
Check fuel level — fill to required level; inspect fuel tank, lines, and fittings for leaks
Check battery electrolyte level — must be 3/8 inch above plates; check terminals and cables for corrosion
Check air reservoir pressure — must reach 100–120 PSI before driving; check for audible air leaks
Inspect all 8 tires for proper inflation — check per TM for load rating; no cuts, bulges, or embedded objects
Inspect all 8 wheel lug nuts for tightness — torque to specification if loose
Check all lights — headlights, taillights, brake lights, turn signals, clearance lights, blackout lights
Check windshield wipers and washers — blades must clear windshield; washer fluid must spray
Check horn — must sound when activated
Check service brakes — air pressure must hold; pedal firm; no pulling or grabbing
Check parking brake — must hold vehicle on grade; releases fully when disengaged
Check crane, winch, spade, and recovery equipment-specific equipment — inspect all mission-specific systems, connections, and mounting hardware
Check cab doors and latches — all doors open, close, and latch properly; door seals intact
Check seat belts and mounting hardware — must latch, retract, and release properly for all crew positions
Check fire extinguisher (cab-mounted) — pin in place, gauge in green, no damage
Check NATO slave receptacle — cover in place, no corrosion on contacts
NFMC — No Further Movement Criteria. Any fault on an NFMC item means the vehicle is non-mission-capable and must not be dispatched until repaired. Annotate on DA Form 5988 immediately.
