BEFORE OPERATIONS PMCS
Perform these checks before every mission or movement. Items marked NFMC will prevent the vehicle from being dispatched.

Check engine oil level — must be between MIN and MAX on dipstick; use correct viscosity per temperature
Check coolant level in deaeration tank — must be at FULL COLD line; check for leaks at hoses and connections
Check power steering fluid level — must be at FULL COLD or FULL HOT mark on reservoir
Check brake fluid level — air-over-hydraulic system; check master cylinder at FULL mark; inspect for leaks
Check transmission fluid level — must be between MIN and MAX (engine warm, running, in neutral)
Check transfer case fluid level — must be at fill plug level; check for leaks
Check front, rear, and tandem axle differential fluid levels — must be at fill plug level on all axles
Check battery electrolyte level — must be 3/8 inch above plates; check terminals and cables for corrosion
Check fuel level — fill to required level; inspect fuel tank, lines, and fittings for leaks
Check air reservoir pressure — primary and secondary circuits must reach 100–120 PSI before driving
Inspect all tires for proper inflation — 75 PSI on-road for all 10 tires; check for cuts, bulges, or embedded objects
Check spare tire — properly mounted and inflated to 75 PSI
Check all lights — headlights (high/low), taillights, brake lights, turn signals, clearance lights, blackout lights
Check windshield wipers and washer fluid — blades must make full contact; reservoir filled
Check horn operation — must sound when activated
Check service brakes — air pressure must hold; pedal firm; no pulling, grabbing, or fade
Check parking brake — must hold vehicle on grade; releases fully when disengaged
Check air dryer — purge valve must exhaust moisture; no continuous air loss from system
Check central tire inflation system (CTIS) — if equipped, verify controller functions and no leaks at wheel ends
NFMC — No Further Movement Criteria. Any fault on an NFMC item means the vehicle is non-mission-capable and must not be dispatched until repaired. Annotate on DA Form 5988 immediately.
