Item # 3 Rear Exterior 

Check for Leakage, Vehicle Damage and Bumper Supports for Towing; Not FMC if Any brake fluid evidence; class III leakage of oil, fuel, or coolant, or damage that would prevent that would impair operation

Check to ensure they are free of debris


Item #5 Right Front Side Exterior

Item # 6 Right Side Tires 

Check for damage or under inflation; Not FMC if Tire Missing, Deflated or Unserviceable



Item # 7 Front 

Visually check underneath for Leaks and for any damage to the Vehicle. Not Fully Mission Capable (NFMC) if Any brake fluid evidence; class III leakage of oil, fuel, or coolant. or damage that would prevent that would impair operation

Item # 7.1 Power Steering Reservoir 

Do not allow dirt/dust to enter when checking, do not over fill, Fluid level should be between "HOT" and "COLD" Add Fluid if Below "COLD" mark


​Item #8 Cooling System 

Check level in coolant tank, Level should be at or Above "FULL COLD" line add Coolant if below "FULL" line



Item # 9 Seat and Seatbelts 

Check for security, damage and operation of buckle and clasp ends, check Operation of Seat Adjusting Mechanism; Not FMC if Seat Adjustment lock broken or missing



Item # 10 Fire Extinguisher 

Check for Missing or damaged, Check Gauge for Proper Pressure of 150 psi, Check for damaged or mission seal; Not FMC if Fire Extinguisher missing or damaged, Pressure needle in recharge area or Seal Broken or Missing


Item # 11 Item has been Deleted from Manual

 
Item # 12 Instrument Panel

​(A) Check for Gauges, instrument or instrument lights are inoperable or not within ranges, Check Wait-to-Start
Light and Brake Warning Light; Not FMC if Wait-to-Start light does not come on when engine is cold or stays on continually or Brake Light Does Not Come on


​(B) Start engine; Not FMC if Engine will not Start


(C) Check Oil Pressure; Not FMC if Oil Pressure is less than 6 psi at idle


(D) Voltmeter; NFMC if Voltmeter needle stays in yellow or red range


(E) Air Restriction Gauge; NFMC if Air Restriction reaches red zone


(F) Brake warning light should go off when hand brake released; NFMC if Brake light stays on after hand brake is released or comes on while driving


(G) Check Fuel Gauge


​(H) Check coolant Temp gauge ; NFMC if coolant temp gauge inoperative or reads greater than 230 F



Item # 13 Item has been Deleted from Manual

​Item # 14 Brakes 

Engine must be warmed up and idling, transmission in "Drive", Transfer in "High" and parking brake released to perform check

(A) Check Brake pedal travel with vehicle at idle and transfer in 2H and Transmission in "Drive" allow vehicle to move forward and slowly depress brake pedal, Pedal should travel 1- 1/2 inches before brakes take hold; NFMC if Brakes will not stop vehicle 


(B) Check parking brake with parking brake fully applied, transmission in "Drive" or "Reverse" and transfer in
"High", vehicle should not move; NFMC if Parking brake inoperable or unable to hold vehicle


(C) Check Parking brake lever safety mechanism to ensure that it latches when parking brake is applied; NFMC if Parking brake lever safety mechanism is not functioning properly



Item # 15 NBC System

(A) Check NBC system power switch for proper operation and security of mounting.  All system fuses including spares should be present


(B) Check NBC heater for proper operation, when knob is turned clockwise, the light should come on, indicating heater is working


(C) Check for steady flow of air at hose outlets. If light does not come on notify supervisor and record on 5988



​Item # 16 Weapon Station 

Weapon station binding should be checked with weapon system or equivalent weight applied to turret. Refer to appropriate system TM to determine weight of weapon system

(A) Check Weapon station for binding by rotating 360 degrees in both directions at least five times; NFMC if Weapon Station Binds


(B) (Armament carriers only) Check armament mounting plate and bearing sleeve for security of mounting and obvious damage that would impair operation; NFMC Armament weapons required for mission; Mounting plate or bearing sleeve missing or any damage that will prevent or impair mounting of armament weapons


​​(C) (TOW vehicles only) Check inclinometer for proper operation. Check level vial for breaks and/or bubbles; NFMC if Level vial is broken of no bubble is present
